I decided to travel to Thailand, take photos and see what becomes of it. I used to work in finance and was a fortunate victim of the GFC. I have been given a chance to follow my dream and become a travel photographer. Since I lost my job 2.5 years ago I have been following my heart, and that is photography. I love to travel, and I love to travel to places that are completely different to Australia and to capture it in a great photo. I take ok photos, but I want to be able to take amazing photos. I have had some photos published in Australian Mountain Biking and Australian Geographic Outdoor of bike rides in Australia. Since I want to be a travel photographer I thought I'd come to Thailand and see if these magazines would be interested in stories on Thailand; a start to my travel photography. Today is my last day in Thailand and I have only just found out about this scholarship. Most of the photos I have taken on this trip are raw except for the ones attached. I don't have my laptop with me so they haven't been edited in any way. The only reason they are in JPEG is because I wanted to send them to Australian newspapers (I have since found out they use wire subs). I wasn't sure whether or not to come to Bangkok, then I decided that it was too good a photo opportunity to miss. I will continue to follow my heart. I am now committed and focused to be a travel photographer.
