Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

hello,
My name is Lucy Trimble, im 25 and from New Zealand.

For the past 2 years i have been moving around travelling and working in Africa, London, France,Turkey and am now living in Australia.
I studied manual photography for 2 years at high school and since then have continued it as my favourite hobby.
I am eager to be taught and mentored and I want to learn everything about photography as a lifestyle and involve it in mine.

Last year i joined a camping trip for 60 days from Kenya to Capetown where i met an amazing group and had a snap happy adventure with them. The trip was one of the most challenging and beautiful things i have ever done so when i saw this advertised on TV i jumped for it as there is nothing i want more than be able to learn from the best with the proper equipment for it right in the heart of Africa.

I have chosen to display my African photos because i think they are my most diverse.
I have included not just one particular scene because i like to capture a piece of everything and in Africa you can do ANYthing.

My other photography favourites include taking pictures of old buildings, abandonded spaces, landscapes, people and animals. I cant narrow it down because they are all as different as the stories they have behind them.

I am always enjoying myself the most when i am somewhere completely different, a country, a house or just a few hours from where i live and am able to take my time getting shots of whatever i want.
Finding something beautiful to my eye, through the eye of my camera and capturing it is what i want to do and i think one of the most beautiful and untouchable things to me are wild animals.

I hope you enjoy my photos!
