My Scholarship entry - Saving Iceland
Iceland | Monday, November 24, 2014 | flickr photos
In the last few years, I decided to combine my passion for photography with my political sentiment to achieve photographic projects in criticism of this sick society .I lived in the hills near Bologna (Italy) in a vegan farm where, along with other friends, I took care of abandoned animals and bringing forth a permaculture project. This photo series recounts a journey in Iceland during which I participated in an action opposing the construction of a new aluminium smelting plant that is unfortunately now operational. This collection captures the essence of adventure and attempts to give an insight into the local people and their culture. Winning this competition would be a huge achievement for both personally and professionally. The opportunity to live in the Peruvian forest surrounded by the untouched wilderness, meeting the people and immersing myself in the culture as well as working alongside a career photographer like Jason Edwards will grant me many opportunites both personally and professionally, enrich my life and be a significant landmark for my career..On the Ring Road with my traveling companions: hitch-hiking was very hard because of the low population density.
