My name is Shih-Yen Lo and I'm an engineer, designer, and photographer. I think photography, design, and engineering have one thing in common: they are all powerful tools for me to help the world.

I started to do photography from 2008, and then I fell in love with it. Photography helps me to explore myself and found out my intuitive personality and sense: I have a crave to landscape photography and I am eager to do something to help the world. I could carry 10kg of photo gear and run all the way up to the mountain for the best moment, cycling for 500km and taking pictures all the way, or sitting all night on the snow for capturing northern light.

I keep questioning myself how I can help the world and I’ve found out how my design and engineering skill could meet the target but I still couldn’t figure out how my landscape photography could help someone or the environment.

I really want to find the answer in this expedition, and I really hope this could stimulate some thought and make a change to my MA program in the next 2 years and rest of my life.
