My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

I took these photos on a holiday in Krakow Poland. The day was a lovely day until a thunderstorm rolled in from the south-east but it did make for great photos. The photos I took are a mixture of the old town and the suburb of Kazimierz. The old town is the focal point of Krakow and there is a lot of tourist money invested in its up-keep whilst Kazimierz has been left almost to ruin since WW2. Kazimierz was/is the Jewish area of Krakow and despite far fewer Jewish inhabitants, it has a strong Jewish presence but sadly sometimes ghostlike. I shot the photos on my old pentax film camera and then digitised the negatives.
