Ko Tao and stuff...

Hi all my lovelies, It has been a while since I wrote in this thing so might have to just write about all the really nice stuff.

Well we went snorkelling in Railay and it was so wonderful being so close to all the little fish and then in the evening we went swimming in the dark and saw plankten which glows and dances around you. So magical. I also tried my hand at jet skiing which is bloody brilliant I went soooo fast and i was screaming so much, the poor guy on the back!

Oh I had a lovely romantic fling in Railay with a thai guy called Son. He gave me lots of flowers and we watched the stars together and danced and swam and oh it was wonderful!

We've also been enjoying the sights. Me and Jessie went to a Buddhist temple in Ko Phangyan. It was really amazing, its basically this place where any tourists can go and experience the life of a Buddha but there are so many rules and stuff. It is such a pretty place and all the buddhists are so friendly waving and smiling and asking our names. Just at the end of our time there I walked up to the view point temple where all the nuns and buddhists were sitting down getting ready for something which I didn't know what! Then I was invited to sit with them and we basically did this big singing meditation thing. It was so nice to be apart of it. But the greatest thing was that it wasn't all really serious and boring, at the beginning the microphone that they were using wasn't working so it was all sqeaky and everyone was laughing!

Yesterday was such bad weather with big winds and so much rain. The day before we took a boat into town and we were literally jumping out of the boat, on our way back the boat driver had to stop and turn around because it was too dangerous to go all the way back to our bungalow. So we were kind of stranded but then found a jeep taxi who drove us all the way back. It was like being on a rollercoaster, Ko Tao is full on mountains and dirt roads so we were being flung about in hysterics trying to hold on. Was quite a death defying experience!

At the moment we are in moondance bungalows and staying there is this big bunch of old hippies who smoke weed all day and generally are really high. All the kids are running round and all the male adults have really long hair. There's this one woman called Dominique who is half belgium, half italian and such a character. She is about 50 and stays up all night with everyone smoking and drinking. Also saw her topless dancing in the sea this morning and doing the hulahoop!

Oh and in our first nights in moondance we were sharing a room with rats! It was so scary we had to move pretty sharpish. One evening we got back, opened the door and a rat was literally climbing our mosqiuto net! Apart from this and mosquito bites no real nasty animal encounters.

I'm having a really great time and cant wait for the rest! We are all getting on really well and oh one more thing! We all got pretty lean last night with a couple of the hippy folk and decided to paddle in the sea. I was so excited and started running and jumping over thinking that the beach was the same level as the grass and well it wasn't. Yeah I jumped straight onto a totally different level of sand and skidded quickly jumping up and bursting into hysterics! It was a total illusion mann hehehe

Ok better be off have been in here for ages, its so lovely and air conditioned.

Lots and lots of love lily x x x x x x x

Eastern Gulf of Southern Thailand

Hi everyone,

My second entry and into the swing of things a bit more. Well we never made it too any more tourist sights in bangkok because we were putting our pictures up! But caught our bus and took a 15hour journey to Krabbi in South Thailand. It wasn't the most comfortable of journeys and my poor feet swelled up! I was very worried I can tell you!

We then took a speed boat out to the island of Railay which is pretty much paradise in places. Although there is lots of hotels, internet cafe's, bars and the rest it is so idylic with big square shaped rocks reaching 40-50 feet in the air. We had an evening swim earlier and the water was so soft and the sand like silk, ahhh bliss! Have to say I was a true foreigner and am now a little burnt but it will turn into a tan it must! Tomorrows plan is to enjoy the beach and go snorkelling and possible island hopping. We're also hoping to do some rock climbing! Not sure how I'm going to handle the snorkelling though as a fish literally nibbled my foot earlier and I freaked out!!Something I really want to do though. We're staying in these really cute bungalow hut things supported by wooden beams from the ground. Its surrounded by the lush green mountains and palm trees which is just so lovely. There are also a group of the cutest kids who shake our hand and follow us with their water pistols! They are in preparation for the Songkran Festival which celebrates the Thai New Year. It sounds so much fun, basically an all out everyone in water fight! The religious belief is the water is blessed and in effect blessing you. Also found out that every Thai man has to be a monk for a period of time in their life. It can be for 1 week to 1 year but they must do it! The religion down here in the South is mainly islam though which concentrates more on following their God rather than the buddhism belief of living a good life.

I'm off now to enjoy a live reggae band in the Gecko Bar and a cool beer. Love to all Missing you x xxxxxx x

First Entry of the trip.

Hi Everyone,

So my journey to South East Asia begins in Bombay. I travel alone from London after a teary goodbye. It felt so wierd to be leaving and going on my own. I felt a mixture of fear, excitiment and bafflement! Also I was feeling pretty ill which didn't help. But I made it to the plane early with my bag packed, my boarding pass and eager to get going. The plane journey was pretty long but felt good to sleeeeep. It was so exciting arriving in Bombay and so far away from home. There were loads of mosquitos and for a moment I thought I had to turn back around to London as I didn't have an India visa! It was o.k though and I was treated as a transit passenger. So after more plane flights, baggage collection, immigration departure and a six hour wait in Colombo airport I met Jessie and Claire! It was such a relief! We went straight to a taxi point where we met Sharna who after organising a hotel and lift back and from the station said he would see us tonight at 6.30pm to take us for dinner! We politely declined.

Sri Lanka is beautiful. Green palm trees and blue skies. Everything seems alot more orange! People were staring at us alot aswell. We decided to go swimming after checking in. The beach was literally 10 steps away from our hotel. We were so excited getting into our bikini's, sun tan lotion and grabbing our sarongs. However as we ran down into the beach Jessie spotted this man race over to the side of the sea and promptly start to well masturbate! It was sooo horrible! Claire ran out while me and Jessie ducked under the sea! It was rather shocking to say the least.

Soooo anyway oh one fo the nights in Sri Lanka there was this big race with lots of dsri lankan boys and men running bare footed through the streets with all these biciclye and tuk tuk's driving past them. It was such an incredible scene though because there was loads of lighting and thunder which covers the whole horizon and a hundred black crows circling the black stormy sky. Then literally down the road a church flooded with lights from the floor and a priest chanting sermons. It was wonderful!

So we arrived in Bangkok on Sunday really early in the morning having had hardly any sleep especially because I was sitting behind this very rude man who pushed his chair RIGHT back, Hu! We then ventured out into the madness of Bangkok and had such a wild night drinking buckets, meeting thai and western people and dancing our socks of until 6 that morning! We've seen The Reclining Buddha which is absolutely spectacluar. All of us in unison walked in gasping WOW!! Also The Golden Mountain and the Phat Pong night Market thanks to Lin who is this lovely thai girl which we befriended. She recently got together with her German boyfriend who she is crazy about. I think she is a little crazy herself but that is why we love her!

Oh my god and we saw a ping pong show! Thinking it wouold be nothing more than a laugh but oh my it is something else! Girls pulling threads of needles from their fannies and shooting bits of banana here there and everywhere!

Ok wow I've written loads sorry but so much to say! Will keep this updated as much as I can but don't worry if you only look at the pictures hehe! Today we're off to The Queens Gallery to see some modern Thai Art and possible this holy shrine where woman go to get prgnant. The shrine is surrounded with over 100 male organs! Then we are off to the South to see the beautiful beaches and swim amongst the little fishy's. I miss everyone but am having a wonderful time and am in good health and spirit.

Love to all x x x x x x x
