Off to Ottowa!

Dear World,

Hi! It's me, I'm back again to write a bit. Haven't done so in a while! It's been fairly busy with a new schedule, two babies to look after and an all round positive experience, thus far. (who still says 'thus far'? sounds a little old fashioned. lol)

So, now I'm on my way to Ottowa, to meet someone I've never met in my life. However, I'm still excited! :D New place, new people (a lot of people) and new experiences. All are a big part of travel of course, and I just love it!

Oh, and by the way, I was early for my flight. Whoops! I thought it left Edmonton at 6:35 am. So, when I checked into the Holiday Inn Express, Niskue - which was pretty good, considering they're undergoing some changes to make it better or something. ANYWAY. I asked the for a wake up call ... at 4 am!!!!!! (why????) There I was, all ready to go, and arrived to Edmonton Airport, checked in at the little kiosk machine thingy whatsit, got my boarding pass and lined up. Looking up at the clock I saw the time was now 5 am. Good, I thought. Gives me some time to check in my pink suitcase, get through the security check with minimal fuss, find Gate 16 and maybe have a bit of spare time to grab a hot chocolate and "something nice to eat". Well! Little Miss Organized and supposedly all prepared, didn't re-check the time on the ticket, did she??? No. So when I got to the actual check-in desk, and the woman said "you're flight departs at 8:35 am" (!!!!!!). I just smiled. On the inside I was a bit furious at myself, because I could have had (at least) an extra hour of sleep! But mostly I was laughing. :) Oh, the places you'll go, right? Hahahahah!

So, yes. I'm off again on yet another adventure. Always fun!

Hope to keep to guys updated more frequently now! Take care and I'll write again soon!

- liltravelbug_20

It's.... Vancouver!

Hi!

Arrived 7 pm last night in Vancouver. Got my working visa and then walked out of the airport, grabbed a taxi and headed downtown to the Samesun Hostel. With my two huge suitcases, and a little carry-on bag... oh and not forgetting my shiny purple laptop bag of course... I was finally here! So exhausted from the extensive travel (all 15 hours- give or take a few). First flight was from Tampa, FL to JFK, NY. Second flight was from JFK, NY to SLC, (Salt Lake City, Ohio). Third and final flight was from SLC, OH to Vancouver, Canada. All in all, good flights and I even managed to sleep some of the way too! :)That was yesterday.

Today, I woke up at around 9:30 am but didn't head down to breakfast until 10 am, which, coincidentally, worked out perfectly to grab a quick bagel and cream cheese and head out to do some scouting of the nearby area. But, because it was really rainy and cold, I bought a padlock (for the locker in the room) and turned around to go straight back to the hostel. Now all my stuff will be safe locked up in the locker. Speaking of safety and stuff, a little note to self: NEVER, I repeat NEVER travel alone with more than one large suitcase!!! EVER! It's too hard to manage! (Although you have to admit, I did pretty well, considering the circumstances) So, now I'm kicking back and taking it easy, until the real fun starts when I get to 'Cold Lake' and my new host family. I'm excited! :D

That's all for now. Until then.

Keep travelling!
