Photos: Yummy Florenza

On a recent trip to Europ we spent an afternoon in Florence. We were only in one area of the city, walking up and down the same streets. The city is known for its gold and leather, neither of which I could afford, so we decided to spend our time experiencing the culinary side of Tuscany. First on the menu: the widely popular Tuscan steak at €45 a piece! The steak was tender and succulent and minimally spiced to bring out the true flavour of the meat. It was well worth the trip! The meal was followed by the Italian must-have gelato and a tomato, mozzarella cheese and basil bruschetta, well, for later.
I adored the old feel of this part of town and the homes right in between the touristy spots as if we were visting the locals themselves. There was washing on the washing lines hanging above our heads and an old lady sitting on her balcony just watching the flocks of tourists wondering around below in amazement of this foreign town, her home.
Another town full of history...but for me, I will always remember the steak!

Photos: Magical Venice

I got the opportunity to travel to Europe where I was in search of a photographic adventure, trying to capture the essence of the different cities on camera. Each place we visited had something different to offer and one in particular was Venice. Venice was ancient and mysterious, yet magical and expensive all in one. It's streets were short and winding which made it easy for me to get lost. With each turn looking the same as the last and me not being able to speak any Italian, Venice offered me an adventure. It was my first time travelling and this adventure was a test of my spirit; teaching me perseverance, strength of the mind and teaching me to trust myself because I was capable of reaching my destination. The city was beautifully detailed and it was amazing to see the buildings all still "standing" above its streets of water. The famous gondola rides proved as magical as they looked in the movies, even in the rain during my time there. The gondoliers did very well to direct the long vessels through the narrow canals and under the low bridges; all adding to the cities character. I loved watching the locals go about their daily work as all the tourists "boarded" their floating city.
My trip to Europe showed me that photography is my passion and I love to capture images that evoke emotions and tell stories. It also inspired me to learn more about different people around me because its in people lives where I can make a difference in this world.
I feel that right now I am on a journey to discover more of myself and with that I am searching of the opportunity to tell stories through my images.
