Everyone has a secret daydream, where one’s professional life takes a totally different path: at 32, and in the early stages of a career in academic research, mine is about being a travel photographer. Nourishing in the years my innate passion for traveling off the beaten track, I’ve been trying to address my documentation efforts according to the idea that behind meaningful travel pictures there should be a personal view on the places crossed, and that, once put together in a set, pictures have to tell a story.
The Peruvian Amazon has already been at the top of my next trips wish list for a while. In case I would be given the opportunity to go there participating in a professional photo expedition, I am eager to exploit it to learn how to improve my photographic skills in such a challenging context, and take the chance to let the travel experiences to which I’ve been passionately devoting my spare time for the last years to become something more serious.
