49. collect a beer bottle from every country visited

FAILLLL!! decided to start this challenge after we had done a bit of travelling hence i missed out on a bottle from spain. managed to visit the other countries again (not purley to collect a bottle, not that extreme) but it just means I'll have to head back to spain... preferably sometime soon. turned out an expensive venture to get them all home. but all 17 of them sit on the mantelpiece/bar!

34. see the cathedral of st vitus in prague

this was another one of those occasions where... we didnt really know what the cathedral looked like or know anything about it when we wrote it on the list and now it has come time to finish this blog and we see numer 34 and ask, 'we didnt do that??' only to realise that we did actually see it although neither of us can remember it 100%. definitely still counts as having completed this task. and its not like we didnt then google a picture of this cathedral to jog our memory. pretty sure half of it was covered in scaffolding whilst we were there as well. excuses excuses!!

90. fairy floss at prater park, austria

fairy floss, the yummy, delectale, delicious, sweet sticky goodness that can only be fairy floss. pink of course! saw the famous big wheel, the largest ferris wheel for the most part of last century. and michelle won a smurf which just makes the place so much cooler. we considered playing the carni games in order to win one but as luck would have it, 1 euro in a claw machine was all it took. woohoo! we proceeded to make music videos of mr smurf dancing. as you do of course!

79. see fisherman's bastion in budapest

on the buda bank near matthias church. also the location where we had to have our 'group photo' taken. oh my goodness, craziest photographer ever. she ran in in some great hurry, made us all sit there with the sun in our eyes and refused to let us wear sunglasses took 3-4 takes and then ran off again like her pants were on fire. that was an experience in itself

incredible. totally different to any other cathedral previously seen (because they can get a wee it repedative) unfortunately the less fortunate locals (eg. missing limbs) used the beautiful catherdral as their begging door step trying to get some money out of the tourists. not uncommon!

and blue it is, when you turn the blue tint on on camera colour settings!

absolutely amazing building. and they even had blue sheets to cover the woman (no flesh allowed inside) except feet, no shoes allowed inside either. and really really nice squishy carpet under the toebies!!

63. try traditional greek salad and gyros when in greece

greek salad is refreshing. pretty much the same as the greek salad that they serve at home however sometimes overloaded with oil. gyros is a whole other experience. some what like a kabab but not quite. the meat tasted like hamburger but without the spice. overall not a bad meal for the day. yum yum

shelby welby was a widdle bit scarewed of the meat though :( lol

it was a hike. we walked to the top of the Nea Kameni, a volcanic island of santorini said to possibly e one of the largest volcanic eruptions the earth has ever seen. there were parts of the island where the soil was extremely hot.

this was followed by a pirate ship boat ride to the smaller volcanic island where we swam in a muddy brown hot spring and then over to Fira.

I think it was smaller than the ones that i had heard about. we still had a great time cruising from Mykonos to Turkey to Patmos to Crete and then Santorini back to Athens. we definitely have intentions of returning to Santorini with a week at least, and a half empty suitcase. AMAZING. only wish i had of experienced the donkey ride down to the new port instead of the cabel car.
