Hi! My name is Ksenia. Last 3 years I spent in traveling. The main reason of my traveling is a changing my life vision. During exploring new cultures I try to feel the life from the same side like local people see it. I am so inspired by people around me and I believe that by photography I can show the interesting world to many people. Yes, our Earth is explored and we can find information about any place, but people have own story and this stories are most interesting for me. Every place has a lot thing to learn about relations between people, about life. Sometimes I catch moment with my camera, sometimes by my eyes – but I like to see how the same situation can be different for different us. And from traveling I learned how to be always optimistic and don’t forget that life is so beautiful. By this scholarship I would like to learn how to be professional. I would like to work as freelancer for travel magazines or websites in the future. But for this moment I feel that I don’t have enough technical and creative knowledge, so I want to improve my level by this scholarship and show to world the pictures after these people will like our planet like I do.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hello! My name is Ksenia. I started non-stop traveling one year ago. Now is it the big trip in South-east Asia. My goal of this experience - tell people, how we all are so simular and different at the same time. I saw wild villages and famous tourist destinations, was first white people for somebody in his life. And I know that I will continue.

I choosed for this competition pictures from Flores island, Indonesia. Indonesia - one of my favorite country, because I never saw so many different cultures on neighboring islands. And Flores island - is unique experience when we can see how to combinated animism, muslim and catholic religions. I spent 3 weeks on the motorbike and explored Flores far and wide. And I now that people there very friendly and smile always although they take for ramble the big machete.

Actually question was - why you should choose me. I don't know exactly why you should choose me among other participants, but I know that this scholarship - is my dream for the long time. And I will be happy to tell people about Oman by my photography. I feel inside me that is it my way now - travel and explore, take a picture and explain.
