Photos: My Scholarship entry - Ghana

I am a keen humanist. I am interested in my own culture as an Australian and the great sense of pride and patriotism I have felt since leaving and now living in the United States. While traveling to other countries, I have developed a deep love for other cultures and have become aware of how much I learn about myself as an individual, a religious person, a daughter, a traveler, a filmmaker and a photographer. Looking outward and understanding others in their own cultures, has made me look inward to see a better me.

If chosen for the travel scholarship, I know that my communication skills would benefit me in working organically in the environment to blend in and really be apart of the environment. I enjoy being with locals and those also willing to share in and let me be apart of an experience and adventure with them.

I am looking forward to learning more about myself and others and being immersed in such a rich culture. I want to better my skills so that I can enter the professional world of photography confident in my skills and potential to tell stories through my lens.
