Vovo Mece: Portrait Documentary of My Grandmother

My name is Kelanie and I'm a film student in California, this is my 4th year in America as I am from and grew up in Brazil. My family's dynamic was moving every year, so I always loved traveling and adventures.

After some time here and experiencing a huge culture shock, I realized how filmmaking could connect these two places, I could show my friends in America what my life is like in Brazil. Telling stories of people that wouldn't normally get to be heard.

I should win because aside from loving cinematography and filmmaking, I am very excited to capture the little details of my travels and to highlight the people I met.
