My Scholarship entry - Bird of Passage

I have a perpetual fascination with wildlife and nature; in particular herpetology. I have a great love for all natures creatures, but reptiles and amphibians in particular capture my attention most. They're mysterious and enchanting characters that I find truly amazing. I based my Animal Management final assignment on reptiles native to the Amazon Rainforest. Having come upon a profuse amount of enthralling creatures, it would be beautiful to see them in their nature habitats and capture it mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I once came across a quote "A photo can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you"; and so began my passion with photographing and painting natures art. My ambition and dream is to become and Eco-Activist via Photojournalism, therefore this opportunity would be a dip into heaven. I feel strongly about describing a situation via imagery; hearing statistics such as Amazon deforestation at the rate of three football pitches disappearing per minute it is immensely difficult to comprehend, I want to capture the image so it can be portrayed easier in my community, and eventually the rest of the world.
