And not just the quick, relaxing vacation here and there, but for considerable periods of time, and to really embrace the country and the culture. I had an opportunity go abroad for my very first time, and so I saved up for a year and half to go on a school trip to Europe, and I loved every minute of it. Even from almost missing our flight, to the blistering sunburns that got worse with every day, I am incredibly grateful to each and every person who helped make the trip a success. I bought my first camera before the trip, a cheap point and shoot Canon that honestly doesn't have the best quality, however, I don't believe it's about the type of camera you have, it is about telling a story, and sharing that story. I've always enjoyed capturing moments, either through photographs or video, and I had the perfect opportunity in Europe. I believe I should be chosen because I would tell the story of the locals and the journey in Columbia. To be chosen for this would mean a great deal to myself and my family, as it has always been a dream of mine to travel to South America, and understand the culture and the people.
