Hi Everyone!!

Anton and I have just spent the weekend in Paris! We arrived friday night and came home late sunday. As most people, we fell in love with the city! There is so much to do and see! We stayed just near the Eiffel tower. We spent the weekend wining, dinning and enjoying the sights! Our most memorable moment was going to the very top of the Eiffel tower! (Took so long to get up there though!!) We loved the french culture, people and their way of life! We will be back again!

We took lots of pictures for everyone to see. Now we are back in sweden enjoying the not so pleasent summer! Today is 16 degrees and raining! Still waiting for warm weather.....but all is well!

Hi Everyone!

How are things back in oz? Things are still going well here in sweden!!Nothing much new to report though or anything of interest! I have put some more photos up though! A couple of weekends ago we celebrated 'mid-summer'. Basically celebrating the beginning of summer and warm weather! However, it was raining all day and didnt reach over 15 degrees! (Typical swedish weather!) We all had a great day though. We were invited to my friend, hannah, parents house. We had a bbq and ate 'herring'...raw pickled fish! Doesnt sound too good, and it isnt! I did have a small bite though to make all the swedes happy! There arn't however many photos of our celebrations. Our camera is broken so i have to wait to get a memory card to put the photos i have taken onto the internet. My friends have sent the pictures they took to me though!

On the weekend we all went on a cruise to Finland. It was an overnight cruise and as you will be able to tell by the photos we all had a great time!

In a few weeks Anton and I are going to Paris for a weekend!!! We will have a new camera by then and will take lots of pictures for everyone to see!!!

Sorry i havent got much to report. Hope all is well in oz!!

Just a quick entry....

Last time i said in my diary that it is still unusually warm here for this time of year. One day after i wrote that it started snowing and hasn't stop!! It is getting cold here! -10 during the days -15 - -20 during the nights.

Jobs/Apartments/Wedding

Hello Everyone,

The past couple of weeks have been spent trying to find jobs, apartments etc. Anton and I have decided to stay in Eskistuna for a few months. Anton has found himself a great job so it seems unnecessary moving to Göthenberg straight away. We hope to find an apartment soon. I start my Swedish course on Monday night and I am also looking for some kind of job. Antons parents have been such a great help!!

On the weekend we both went to a wedding in Göthenborg. Antons friends Frederick and Emma from church were the couple. It was a lovely day!(have a look at the photos). After the wedding Anton and I stayed in Göthenborg for the night and got to see what the night life was like. Its a great city!

Lina (antons sister) left for Canada last week. She will be there for four months studying. The weather here is still warm for this time of year! There is no snow. If it does snow it melts before it reaches the ground so its very slushy!

I have got onto a great website for aussies in Sweden! I am going to Stockholm on Australia day to celebrate with fellow aussies. We are all meeting at an irish pub. I cant wait. It will be so good to make friends with other Australians living in Sweden as well. My friends Nikki and Suzie are coming over on the 20th of Feb. We will be staying at a Hostel in Stockholm. It will be great to see them!

Anton is a Industrial Enigineer at a company that makes steel products. He is very happy now! In a few months we will start to plan moving to a bigger city. Either Göthenborg or Stockholm. We have also got a new car!! Its pink and a Mazda!

Well, thats about it! Sorry i dont have more to write about! I also dont have too many photos. I left my camera at home when we went to wedding!! Luckily Malin had hers. I also put up a few pictures of Antons friends.

Mountains

Hello everyone,

Happy New year!

My last week has been spent in the south of Sweden skiing in the mountains with Anton and his family. (I know,i know....its a hard life!). The place we were at was called Sälen. Its about a five hour drive north/west of Stockholm.(Not that anyone would know where that is anyway!)

As you could imagine I had a great time! We stayed in a lovely cabin with views of the mountains. Everyday was spent skiing and then relaxing in the cosy cabin. It was only my second time skiing. On the first day i was finding it very difficult, and getting extremely frustrated trying to ski down the slope without hurting myself. Whenever i felt confident i would always fall(Very hard,Im still bruised). After the second day i was loving it! Im still not very good, but good enough to go down the slopes without stopping or hurting myself!

On the third day everyone went across to Norway to ski. We didnt go because anton was sick on that day. I have put in photos of their day in Norway anyhow.

The weather here is still warm for this time of year. There wer'nt many slopes open in Sälen due to the lack of snow! But we still managed to have great fun on the slopes!

There really isnt much else to report! We have still been doing the same things in Eskilstuna. New years eve was spent in Sålen. Anton and I fell asleep before 12 but i was woken by the fire works right outside my bedroom window. It was really nice to watch them over the snowy mountains!

Anton and I have decided to move to a city called Götberg. It is the second biggest city in Sweden.It is on the west coast. The next month will be spent looking for apartments,jobs etc.

Sorry there isnt much to write about at the moment.Things are very quite here,but still very nice!

New Photos

First week in Sweden

Hello All,

Since arriving Sweden, the past week has been spent with family and friends. All of Antons friends are very nice! They have all made me feel so welcome!

Most of our days have been spent going into town,having 'Fika´(coffee)with the family, and walking the dogs. When Anton and I were in town a couple of days ago, i met the first foreigner in this town! He was from america and travelling up from Denmark. (I thought i was the only backpacker in this town). We have both been invited to a wedding in January. It will take place in Göthenberg, the second biggest city in Sweden. I am really looking forward to it. All of Antons friends will be there and we are all staying over night in Gothenberg.

Christmas Eve is the big celebration here. It was such a lovely day. In the morning we went to Antons cousins' house for lunch. It has been unusually warm here for this time of year! It was around 7degrees on christmas eve. Anton and his Dad jumped in the lake! They were FREEZING!

In the afternoon we went back to Antons place. Antons grandparents and aunty (mothers side) have been staying here for the week. We all had dinner and then gave out presents. Antons Dad dressed up as santa and gave out some of the presents. It was really funny. I got sooo spoilt by Antons parents! They got me so much! I tried all the swedish traditional food on the christmas table. They have 'sill' wich is raw fish in a jar. Its a very strong taste and very yuk!

On Christmas night Anton and I went to his friends apartment for a few drinks. It was fun. However i am still struggling a little with my swedish! We are all going to the mountains in two days for a week to ski. We are all hoping there will be enough snow on the mountains!

Anton and I are still deciding on a city in Sweden to move too. In january we are travelling to London, Rome and Paris. Cant wait!!

I have attached some more photos! There should be more but i keep on forgetting my camera most places i go!!

Hello from Sweden1

Hi Everyone,

Greetings from Sweden! I have started up my very own travels diary. Everyone will be able to view my travel diary and look at my photos.

Anton and I spent three days in Bangkok before arriving in Sweden. Bangkok really was a culture shock! The shopping was great and the people were lovely. However, by the third day we were ready to jet off to Sweden. Four days was a bit too long for us in Bangkok. Have a look at our pictures from thailand!

We arrived in stockholm at 630am yesterday. We were greeted by Antons father Yon. It was so good to finally meet him! We arrived in Eskilstuna (Antons home town) around 9am. I met his mother Gunnel and younger sister Malin for the first time as well. It was so exiting! Antons family are lovely! They made me feel so welcome!

After catching up with the family we met Antons cousin Jakob and his girlfriend Anne in town for coffee. They both live in Vitenam. After coming home from town, the rest of the afternoon was spent spending time with Antons family.

Sweden is of course VERY, VERY COLD! It snowed for the first time yesterday! I was so happy!! The sun doesnt come up until 9am and goes back down at 3pm! Very strange to me! When the sun is up its still quite dark.'

Well that just about outlines my first day in Sweden. I will write up my a new diary very soon!
