My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

There are specific moments when the world threatens itself to show it’s true contention. The color of citizenship. The piffling of religion. The derelict of war. Within these inconsequential moments lies consigned life’s. Owned and sold for lucre. Within these life’s one has the opportunity to witness a miracle. While backpacking the Middle East I saw death, destruction, and desolation. Nevertheless, A vital life force illumined the discord and left behind more than hope. It left behind the miracle of endurance.
I have shown my pictures to any wondering or curious eye. The narrative of the unspoken story. The photos that speak for the people who cannot. I want my photos to articulate. My passion is taking on the palpable plot of others and sharing to educate. I yearn to learn how to enlighten. I travel to collect smile lines and heartache streaked hair. I want to see through the lens what I see in the heart of a conversation. I want to show the sentiment of uttered words. I need the dexterity to show the life that thrives within all no matter how buried it is.
