I'm Kara de los Reyes, 29, born and raised in Manila, Philippines, practicing as a 'young' Architect in the UK. It may seem like I've got it all figured out; but I don't. I feel that though the world is getting smaller, there are so many links yet to be made: between people, nations, beliefs, and nature. To "have it all figured out" is like saying life has come to a standstill. My passion was always traveling, connecting with the places and the people I visit; finding a way to find meaning in, and imbibe the new experiences. I like to use photography to become the interpreter of the places and people, of the animals and landscapes. 2013 is the year that I must look at my career, reflect on it, and listen to my heart. I might make a good architect, my heart longs for adventure and the world, to be an ambassador of a different culture or place, and to grow as a person. What better way to get on the right track than to be mentored by a master photographer on assignment! I know I'd make an excellent photographer, a fun and worthy student, and an insightful, reflective travel companion.
