Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Hello, mi name is Julieta and i'm from Bariloche, Argentina. I'm 19 years old and i'm studying biology. The truth is I don't have much experience in photography, i've only done a short course and i have a compact camera. I'm saving to buy a hibrid camera. Still, i decided to give it a shot, why not?
My dream is travell trough the world meeting new places and new cultures, have new experiences but most of all do something with it, make a contribution to the world, make a change. A travell photographer can do that through art, i wanna do that. Being able to move people with a photograph like it happens to me when i read a magazine.
My two parents are biologist and i like what they do, i mean i love animals and plants. But i want more than that. In Argentina what a biologist can do is investigate, and there's not much art involved with it, it's basically strict science where you have to be very specific in what you do. And i don't want that, i wanna know more than just biology, i wanna work with people, cultures, places. Sometimes when i see a picture that shocks me emotinaly, i realize that is a way to contribute to the world. Showing realities that are not at all what we are used to, or showing something beautiful where i saw nothing before. Going to South Africa combines my passion for nature with my passion for photography. I don't know any biologist who works in natgeo but that's what i want and i think this is a shot for it.
These pictures i took are from places i've visited and moments that ment something for me. Some of them i took during a student exchange in new zealand, I hope you enjoy them.
