Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Growing up on anime, video games and movies--images always caught my eye. But it was the stories behind them that held my attention.

When I got the funds to buy a capable digital camera, I was empowered to create such art of my own. It was my turn to create a story.

Being an IT consultant, I have done a modest amount of travelling. I have shared my travels of the US, Europe & Asia online. The internet also helped me further photography skills that I have learned on my own.

More than the beauty I have seen, there was also the experience. It was not just of me in the middle of Times Square, swimming with the whale sharks, or seeing clouds below your feet.
Everyone had a story: the tourist trying to ask for directions in Times Square, the whale spotters standing on top of the boats, the farmers who built rice paddies and their homes in the mountains. Their story, is what I want to discover.

I've traveled, but mostly where civilization has made a path. I've already watched the little things happen in the urban jungle.
Now, I want to reach out and explore new locations, to discover not just the scenery, but the why/who and how of living outside civilization.

In this gallery of the Banaue rice terraces, I tell such a story.
