Khao lak-initial

7am and we've finally arrived in Khao Lak, had plenty of sleep so I'm definitely happy. Even from the bus you could see the amount of dive shops scattered around here and it6s getting almost too exciting to bear. Checked into a very nice hostel for 300 baht a night (walkers Inn). After a nice shower I'll be heading off to the dive shops to set something up.

Bike for Dad

Not the most eventful day, but it was good. Rode on the back of a motorbike to go book a bus ticket to khao lak for 20:00. Had to go twice because the lady was confused. Spent the day wandering around and went to the beginning of the bike for dad (the king). There were hundreds of people on bikes. We also stopped and chilled at the park for a while watching the fish jump. We had amazing chicken for dinner and were then driven to the bus stop by the hostel owner, amazing lady. Hopped on the bus an hour and 20 late and off we went.

Getting out of Bangkok

First day leaving Bangkok, woke up had breakfast figured out the skytrain and made it to the busstop. We ended up in a town called samut sonkram which turned out to be pretty lovely. Took a little walk around bought some handrolled cigars explored the markets and just chilled out for a while. We got invited out to dinner by some of the teachers (Mandy and Randy) and the hostel owner (euwie). Stayed at Hometown hostel, small rooms but amazing people. Definitely gonna try to stay here on our way north.

First Day- Grand Palace

Woke up around 11. Definitely jet lagged. We then went to see the grand palace. It was magnificent, huge golden statues and massive golden plated buildings. It was definitely an interesting sight. After the Palace we went on a walk around town. We went through a few markets and eventually grabbed a bite to eat in one of them. LOVE STREET FOOD. Later we headed back to our area, had a nap at our hostel and then went out for a few. We had a few beers with some hilarious drunk irishmen and one lovely thai girl (who eventually asked both of us to come up to her room). We got into bed around 3 or 4.

Arrival

After a long few months of work, we finally set off. Monday at 5am we made it to the London airport. The lady struggled to check us in fue to some flight change, but we managed. The plane later left after an hour fog delay. The same thing happened for all our flights. But eventually we made it to Bangkok. At 12am. After customs we struggled to figure out the taxi system but managed. We got a ride ro the hostel, which we couldnt find and later went to another (turns out it closed). After a beer to celebrate we headed off to sleep after a long few days.
