All Set?

I think I've got this sorted - Manila on the 18th now, trek through northern Philippines until going to Bangkok on the 30th - just in time for Suan Mokkh on the 31st. But then again, I thought it was sorted before too... Planning is overrated anyway.

Changes

How does anyone ever change their itinerary without going broke? Now I've got the opportunity to stay over in the Philippines and get my scuba there before heading to Thailand. But moving my departure ahead a week when it's only two weeks away? umm... yeah - not the easiest or cheapest thing to do, especially with ultra-discount tickets. I'll avoid attachment to the outcome I guess. Just flow with it if I can.

Prep work

How in the world do people travel for six months at a time? I'm planning a four-week trip and there is so much information overload...

Here's the framework:

July 16: Leave for Bangkok

July 18-19: Head for Siem Reap & Angkor Wat

July 24-25: Head to Koh Tao for scuba certification

July 31: Check into Suan Mokkh for retreat

August 11: ???? Come home or keep going

Now what??? Is this enough of a framework to do the entire trip? I can't even begin to imagine what I'm really in for, but I suppose that I'll figure this all out as I go along. I just don't want to pack too much.
