So here I am at dirty LAX, and what nicer place to spend 5 or so hours. Ah LA I missed you, although I was pleased to see that despite having to now scan all your fingers (not just the one like last time) as well as scan your irises I have yet to see security guards with scary guns. To be honest, with all this time on my hands now I realise theres really nothing to do at airports apart from spending money on things that will no doubt be confiscated from me in a matter of hours. Having said that - it looks like my beloved Tim Tams are safe for now. Customs didnt even want to rip open my bag and pull out all my dangerously over-packed items like they did last time. Victory is mine! Australia - 1, States - 0.

I must say, having now been up for 24 hours straight, I feel like Im loosing my mind a bit. But - only 20 or so hours to go. Lets just hope I can get some sleep on the next leg.

Please god let me get a seat with leg room!

It hasnt all been bad, the food on the plane was reasonable and I did manage to watch the entire series of "flight of the conchords" - which admittedly, was probably a contributing factor to my lack of sleep.

anyway - next stop - NYC. lets just hope theres something open at 1am when I land.

thats all for now, Im going to go and buy an incredibly over-priced piece of pizza, which seems to be the healthiest thing they have here. - well then again theres sushi, but somehow I think that eating fish from an airport is probably a bad move.

So I thought I'd get a head start on this thing, not sure why as I haven't left yet. I guess just to see what it looks like on the page... and yes - also because I am a little obsessed with writing about myself online. As I sit here typing this I am acutely aware that I have less than a month to go before I fly out. I am scared and excited, but luckily I am more excited than scared. I love not knowing what might happen next...
