Photos: Yukon Canoe Voyage

Photography is something I do simply for the fact that I enjoy the act of creating something beautiful. Having mixed with other photographers who are driven by financial or other such incentives, I have to come to feel that having the will to create something simply for it's own sake brings an honesty and clarity that is otherwise rare in the digital age.
I am 20 years old, have just spent the last year travelling and working in Canada and am soon to begin studying at university in the hope of one day becoming and anthropologist. I feel that the opportunities offered by this scholarship are ones which would benefit me both as a photographer and as a person.
