4th December - Provo Utah - Cortez Colorado

Today, was simpy amazing. Driving through the Utah, was simply gorgeous. The sun was shining. Dan and I both in our T-shirts, and feeling very lucky indeed.

We stopped at the Arches National Park. Breath taking, you must look at the pictures.

We wished though that at the entrance, the man behind the office area had mentioned to us that there was no place for the dogs to walk. We were expecting to enjoy the sites, with the two girls( Which he was fully aware they were coming too....)

So this did cause a few complications to say the least. Poor Milly was experiencing some poorly tummy troubles.... We tried to take them for a secret walk to one of the arches, but got caught red handed. The VERY nice man did not say anything though. So we all hopped back in the van, like nothing had happened, except Milly, had not quite set out to do, what she SHOULD have done. So yes, you guessed it, we experinced a very pleasant smell in the car.... Nice one milly!

The pictures say it all really about today....so enjoy!

We are now staying in Cortez tonight. Just had dinner. Tacco Bell. Not like the real mexican food.

Tomorrow will be another long days drive. We took it a bit easy today, and enjoyed the simple beauty's that our world has.

And we are off........

So, its finally done.... we have said all our goodbyes, and now its us and the two little dogs.

We left Calgary at around 8am, a little later than first hoped for, but we needed to make sure that we had sorted everything, and not left any loose strings back in the city of Calgary.

It took about 3 hours for us to hit Montana, the US Border. I was quite excited at this point. I have never been to the US, Let alone, driving there.

They searched through EVERYTHING and it took about an hour and a half to get through. I had to have my fingerprints taken, and my photo taken. (Like some kind of criminal, but it did not bother me. They have to do, what they have to do. Dan was fine, I am guessing thats because hes Canadian. I had my passport stamped, and also have to show a customs card at the Mexican Border. ( This is because we are planning on staying in Mexico for 6 months. The Visa here in the States expires in March 09. So if I hand this into Customs at the Border, I will have no problems, when we get back to the States.

Montana, was very COLD! We stayed in a motel for the first night. They had there first snow storm, the day we arrived. We stayed in Helena. The residents there are super friendly, and very very helpfull!

3rd December - We left around 11.00am. This morning, it took us a while to get started again. The snow had been cleared away, and the roads are now much safter for us to begin the journey for the day.

We ended up at Provo- Near Salt Lake City. ( The biggest City I have ever seen) So many lights.... they sure go crazy with the christmas decorations here. I joked to Dan, and said no wonder they are in recession. There Electric bills must be amazingly high.... First night in the tent trailer, and it felt very much like home. The girls were really happy, and we all enjoyed a much deserved rest!
