My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Jennifere Thompson and I am passionate about photography and have travel always with a camera, overseas and Australia. I am currently touring country Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia vineyards, and their remarkable landmarks. While touring I realized, I did not have to travel too far to photograph things of interest and beauty.
In my photographs I take a journey that will tell a story, portray a feeling, place, time, or a change in season. My photographs are of scenery taken in vineyards of where the air is cooling during the night, and the vineyards are becoming dormant as the season changes. I found beauty in reflection of water and melding autumn colour of the trees
Another photograph was taken at a vineyard in South Australia. And shows an old building , forlorn, sadly forgotten. However to me the ruin is beautiful and exciting, not just brick and mortar passed over by time. It shows clarity in the brick, with a backdrop of vines almost floating.
A flock of angry geese march in time, their way through a vineyard, protectors of growth, I dared not get any closer, as they hissed fierce and proud. No time for my presence, as they continued strutting back to their shaded spot.
I travelled the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, while on my way to the vineyards, I came across a gigantic tree which had an abundance of history. I wanted to show the tree reaching for the sky, something that doesn't change as time always does. I was amazed that this once housed a migrant family and this was their backyard.
This is what I want to show in my photography, that time changes, but there is always something beautiful within everyones reach. If I could learn, and see something new each day, I could pass it on to others, to be part of time captured.
