A 'place' I have visited

Originally from the UK, I have been travelling and embarking on different adventures for over 4 years now. What started out as simply wanting to take a decent holiday picture has now become more of an obsession. Photography has become an excellent way to meet new people, discover new cultures and make sense of the world around me. I strive to capture every moment whilst on the road and hope to inspire others to be as passionate about travel and the world as I am.
I hope to gain a better understanding of photography from the scholarship. Being a self taught photographer, most of what I have learned has come from being in the field, and I’m aware that there are probably a few holes in my photographic education. I'd be keen to listen to the advice given, and honoured to be assisting such a renowned photographer.

Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Originally from the UK, i have been travelling almost continually now for 3 and a half years. What started out as wanting to take a decent holiday picture, has now become more of an obsession. I would say i'm not someone who does things half heartedly, and a bit of an obsessive compulsive when it comes to attention to detail. I'm my own worst critic and if my pictures aren't perfect, then that irritates me. Being on the move constantly doesn't leave me with much time for photo editing, so i do strive to get the photo right at the time. I'm also not a fan of spending hours in front of the computer!
I think i'd be a good candidate for the scholarship as i'm used to the stresses of travel in a foreign location and not a stranger to long hikes with heavy equipment!
I hope to gain a better understanding of photography from the scholarship. Being a self taught photographer, most of what i have learned has come from being in the field, and i'm aware that there's probably a few holes in my photographic education. I'd be keen to listen to the advice given.
My goal for the future is to inspire people to travel, broaden their minds and encourage them to reconnect with the natural world
