Bangkok to Singapore

The Bus from Koh Pagnan arrived at 6am and I couldn't check in to my room until lunch time so, So I stayed with Alice and Rich in a 0 star room just of Koh San Road. I was grateful to have a bed after that bus but would have rather done without the cockroaches. Later that night I met the rest of the Intrepid group. Everyone seemed like a good mix of people and we all went out for food together following by a few buckets. The next day was spent around Bangkok and at night we got the overnight train to Surathani. This was where I had just come from but didn't want to miss meeting my group. The next two days were soent in Koh Suk national park. Had a few great days getting to know everyone, going tubbing down the river even though I was shitting myself cause of the fish. The smakes hanging from the trees didn't even bother me that much. We left the national park for Krabi beach. This area had been affected my the Tsunami. We did a boat tour which took us to the area where the beach was filmed and to the Phi Phi islands. Penang was next and was a bit of a let down, then on to Kuala Lumpar. We stayed in Chinatown around the markets and had some great food. Up early in the morning with a hang over to get tickets for the Petronas towers. The towers were amazing and we did some sightseeing during the day and went out for a beautiful meal at night. Kaula Lumpar was amazing and wish I had a few more days there. After another few days of travelling and stopping in the beautiful city of Melaka we head for our final destination of Singapore. After a last night meal in Boat Quay and saying our farewells to each other I head to meet Ian. Julie Moorehouses husband who i'll be staying with for the next 5 days. Singapore is great but also expensive, Ian kindly took me out to Champagne Bruch at the Ritz Carlton on the sunday which was amazing. Another few days out sightseeing and a few nights out and its time to head to Changi Airport to fly to Melbourne

Thailand

After the long flight I was glad to arrive in Bangkok aiport. The airport is very new and airconditioned. Its a bit misleading arriving to this nice airport as to what awaits you outside. I met a guy Mike in the queue who was also on his own travelling. We both ended up staying at the same place which was good having someone to go around Bangkok with. Bangkok is an amazing place, its hard to descibe. There are so many people all out trying to make a living whether its conning tourists, selling fake clothes or driving a tuk tuk. Everone we meet reminds us that in Thailand especially Bangkok everyone is out to make cash and EVERYTHING is for sale. We spent a few nights in Bangkok and then my Mum treated us to a free night in the Hilton using her points she has collected we fly on the dodgy airline One 2 Go to Surathani. While sitting on the plane I noticed that the wing had about three different colours of metal welded on. We arrived safely and drive about 1hr 30 mins to get the boat to Koh Pagnan, the legandary island where the famous full moon parties are held. The boat looks like something that has been recovered from the bottom of the sea. However you had to remind yourself you are in Thailand and just get on and hope for the best. That night we met some german guys and went out for dinner and a few drinks to Had Rin the main beach area covered by bars. The next week was spent touring the island on our scooters, waking up with some serious hang overs and just chilling out before we head to the half moon party. The half moon is in the jungle and is iluminated by ultraviolet lights everywhere. The place was full with crazy travellers from all over the world and mad Thai ravers. I had to leave the island and head back to Bangkok to meet my intrepid group. This time I couldn't affort to fly so I got the 4 hour bout then the 14 hour bus. Two friends Alice and Rich got the bus as well so I had company but it was a Nightmare!
