A taste into the way the Caribbean has shaped the lives of the people, the animals and the landscape https://journals.worldnomads.com/janebutler/ Thu, 23 Apr 2026 14:59:35 GMT World Nomads Adventures I'm a twenty year old, only discovering my passion for photography slowly, spurring from my recent travels alone. I enjoy nothing more than travelling and each time I make every effort to meet the most interesting individuals. Alongside this, capturing the sights and atmosphere of a place is something I have started trying to do in all the places I've travelled to. I find it easiest to photograph landscapes and buildings, feeling as if I'm acting somewhat invasive when photographing people. It was in the Caribbean that I saw some of the most wonderful faces which I longed to capture. In particular some of the Rastafarian faces who have the most interesting features because of the way they allow their body to be taken over by nature. I felt need to experience the professional outlook and skills in order to photograph exactly what I want to capture. This scholarship could open up a world of knowledge about travel photography that I'm so keen to acquire and continue to pursue.
