There is nothing that can make me jump out of bed quicker than the smell of fresh coffee and bacon. I feel like myself and the term 'brunch' are meant to be. A quick breakfast just doesn't cut it, I want to sit and ponder my thoughts of the day, over heaps of coffee and all of the best produce. My memories of brunch have always been fond ones; knocking on my mums bedroom door at the crack of dawn to see if it was time to eat yet, and summer holidays all crammed into a tiny caravan in Wales, to the smell of cockles and lava bread sizzling away on the stove. So this is where my love of these very breakfast items comes from. I feel like it has been the one consistent meal that has been there through all of my life. From being a teeny tot with little slithers of bacon and soggy toast, to a uni student nursing the mother of all hangovers and finally to my grownup self cooking up a delicious storm in my kitchen. A Sunday morning wouldn't be the same without this plate of goodness, a good cuppa, a crisp newspaper and my loved ones.
