I am a nurse by profession. I fell in love with photography when I was assigned to document our 10-days immersion at Cavite City, Philippines. I get to take pictures of the activities in our duty and it involves getting to know the people in the place by not only getting their profiles as a family and doing health teaching but also through immersing ourselves in their simple daily lives. They were families who live just above the sea and I mean that literally. In those moments I got to capture the scenery which was kind of depressing, in the way they live and yet I also saw their smiles. The simple joys of living that they portray in getting by with life everyday are seen sincerely on those captured images too. That's when I started to get interested and promise myself to capture those wonderful moments of strangers, of the scenery and the reality of life through photography.I was only using a Canon Powershot SX130IS back then and until now. But I also fell in love with using film.
