I am 48 years old,single -parent of 2 great sons, freelance educational consultant, traveller, used to be an English Teacher ages ago,still feeling young and trying to be a photographer. I live in Izmir ,3rd biggest city in Turkey but like travelling both in and outside of Turkey. After my retirement of Oxford University Press Aegean Area Manager job, photography became my best friend. I haven't been any special course about it, but when I decide to learn something, I did it in every part of my life. Learning about different cultures, different languages, being in different places are my ambitions. In my freelance teaching programmes, I am teaching English teachers about up-to-date teaching techniques for their students. I am doing these trainings for sharing my experiences and trying to help my people living far from city centres. These photos were taken in Van,city from the east of Turkey where that terrible earthquake happened 1,5 years ago. The city was destroyed and many people died. Photos are taken in the late afternoon by the Lake Van, from old city castle. I was there for one of my trainings for teachers.
