I am a curious observer and am passionate about capturing moments, sights & objects in a click to preserve the memory and tell a story.
I am 1st generation American, with a Latvian heritage, currently living in Italy. Nine yrs ago, I chose to leave the corporate world to start living with a 'want-to' mindset instead of 'because this is expected of me'. Four yrs ago I took the leap and moved to Italy - solo, no job waiting for me, no connections, not a lot of money - but for an opportunity to learn by get exposed to another part of the world.
These changes have been quite a rollercoaster ride, but through this I have learned: I'm on the right path, a sense of humor is a must and not to let go of following my passion, photography. Recently, I started a travel blog to share my photographs and experiences, though I know I have a lot to learn to improve my photography to be able to best capture what I see.
This scholarship would be an incredible opportunity for me to learn, develop my photography skills and continue to grow. And hey, what an incredible 50th birthday gift! Don't worry - I'm a fit, energetic young lady. Rainforest, learning, photography, exploration-yes, please!
