Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

The photographs are shot in the suburbs of Karachi, Pakistan. Pir Mangho was a sufi saint, his companions were crocodiles. Although he is long gone, the people of the region, and the country, revere them as his legacy. Each pilgrim offers food for the crocodiles as part of a holy bargain. I have been in love with this place, the people and most of all the crocodiles since I first ventured into their space.
