Wand'ring About Detailing the life of an itinerant engineer.

Just another update.

Well, not that much exciting stuff has happened in the past few weeks; mostly it's been school and some neat little side trips.

Last weekend a few of us went out to Güntersen, a small city near Göttingen, with our teacher for a few days.  We went and saw a few castles along the fairy tale road, and an old zoo and some stuff in Kassel.  The fairy tale castles, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rapunzel Castle, and I think another one, were all pretty neat.  I broke one of them trying to climb up onto a wall to get a better look at a tower.  Oops.  There are some good pictures though, and I'll probably get them online soon, as my memory card's about full.

Two days ago we were in Bremerhaven to visit the Schiffahrts Museum, or Shipping Museum, and Der Auswanderers Museum, or the Immigration Museum.  Both were pretty neat.  The Schiffahrts Museum had a late 12th century cog that they were restoring, but my camera battery died as I was taking pictures of it.  I guess that means I'll have to make up for it with good pictures of the Vasa in Stockholm and of the Vikingskib Museet in Denmark.

We've also gone to the VW plant in Wolfsburg and the Mercedes Benz plant here in Bremen.  Those were kinda neat, but the tours drag on way too long.

This coming week we're going to Hamburg on Monday and Tuesday.  One day is for visiting the US Consulate, and the other day is for... something else; I don't remember what.  After that, we've just got four more class days and then the program's over.  It's really flown by.

Anyways, that's all for now.  I've got to go home and pack for this weekend, as I'm heading off to Koebenhavn, Lyngby, Roskilde, and maybe Nykoebing Falster for the weekend to see some museums.  Next weekend will be for visiting friends, and then I'll be wandering freely.
