sagada

SAGADA - is a very peaceful and relaxing place for me. a place where i truly thank God for creating this world. a place where i defined PEACE as it is. A few years ago, i have no idea where this "SAGADA" is. my country was blessed with such natural beauties and awesome places where until this very moment, haven't been discovered. so out of my curiousity, i did a little research of this place Sagada and ended in a simple word, mountain. im a beach lover. yes.. it is my greatest interest to see a beautiful beach, but never a mountain. Mountains for me are only mosquitoes, stress (physical and mental i guess), no decent food or comfort in any ways. in short, not my ideal place to visit. but as i've said, out of my curiousity, i end up buying my bus ticket to a place named "i have no idea"... bound in an air conditioned bus, we travel for about 12 hours!... so exhausted and hungry, i stucked myself in a small villa type room. 12noon, it feels like dawn. so quiet and cold. the only sounds you could hear are the birds and a small cracking sound of woods and the stems crushing with each other as the wind blows outside the window. at that very moment, i regret why i came to this place. so i took a nap. i woke up at 4pm and my stomach is growling. so i went to the inn's restaurant. challenged by their menu, i ordered their vegetable fried rice (im actually a meat-lover) and yogurt (their place specialty)... then my meal came. and that was when i realized vegetable is really good! and the yogurt is fantastic!. meals aren't my problem after all. after the meal, i stroll on their small street to look for something i could do for 2 more days. i failed. this place offer no activity aside from caving and walking on mountains. you couldn't even compare it to the activities that a beach could offer (of course!)... so i look for anything to accomodate my boredom. i started reading my some books, listening to music, thinking, meditating... and Voila!, this place is meant for self-discovery. the lease things that i do for myself, is what im doing in sagada!... reading, listening, meditating, relaxing and even sleeping are the things that i overlooked and even forgot to do when im in the city. and i realized how badly i need to do such things for myself. i found a peaceful place! a place where i could explore more than walking around the street or even dive in the water. a self-discover of my mind that a peaceful place could only offer... after that experience, i visit sagada for more discoveries.
