7th April

Today I went to the city hall. Finally there was some sun in the sky and the temperature has risen to 10 degrees!

There was people everywhere, obviously all out enjoying the sun!

To get to the top of the hall you have to go in a lift, the lift leans to the left then to the right and backwards and forwards and has a glass bottom... the minute / 2 minute ride up and back down couldnt go fast enough! But the view from the top was worth it, it was also worth a 45 minute wait!

16th of March

It has been a very ordinary week this week.

Today Liliana is really sick and spent the day in bed, so me and Leni went to the shops and bought some ingredients and together we made a damper!

It was really good and the family actually really enjoyed it!

10th of March

Well not a great lot has happened since the last post.

Last weekend we went to Berlin for Katjas mothers 50th suprise. We went horse riding and about 25 of us went on a bus to the town where she grew up to a nice restaurant for brunch and dinner.

Then the girls stayed at their grandparents for a week so it has been very quiet here!

Marcus and I went to a circus called 'flic flac' it was more of just a stunt show, but it was very good!

Thats about it! Girls arrived home today so back into it all tomorrow!

3rd Feb

Last Sunday I went on a bit of a sight seeing trip with the girl from Australia before she left.
We went to Herrenhause which is just big gardens. It was soo nice, but would be alot better with either snow or flowers in the plants, not just dead looking trees!

It was such a cold day we both froze so we only went really fast!

Then we went to the Rathause which is known as the City hall.

Then we did a sightseeing trip which is a book you buy then you follow a red line painted on the ground and the book tells you about all the things that you go past.... they werent all that interesting... one was just a bus stop!

Then we went and had awesome mexican for dinner! Enchiladas better than I have ever tasted before! mmmmm!!!

26th / australia day

This morning for breakfast I made the girls try vegemite. Saw some of the funniest facial expressions! hahah they hated it! But because it was Australia Day, I made them do it :)

Then we went to the hilliest part of Hannover it is the last town in the region of hannover on the south west cost. There was soooo much snow and we just walked around and pulled the girls along on a sleigh.

This is also where Marcus's parents live, so we went to their place for lunch/snacks. It was good because they knew a little bit of english and were very friendly!

Next week the temperature is meant to reach the positive! Fingers crossed!!!!!!

20th

This afternoon, I met up with the friend I have made through my course and we went Ice scating in -6 degrees in a half outdoor rink! It was soooo much fun, but very cold and busy! Meena is also from Australia, but she is returning in 2 weeks times.

Her cousin then took us out for dinner to her favourite restaurant in town. It was a pizza/pasta restaurant. We had 2 meals between us, 3 waters and 1 desert, walked out sooo full for only 24Euros! Everything is so cheap!

Today I caught the tram for 30 minutes to get to the City Hall because you can go inside and look out over Hannover, so I got there and realised my camera was dead.... so I caught the tram back. Charged my camera for 30 min then went back, went inside to buy a ticked to go up... its closed till February...

Soo I had a wonder around the city.. got a bit lost, took some photos and came home!

Finished my seccond day at my language course today, is definitely an interesting experience.

Im in a class with 13 other students, I am the youngest and apart from one other girl, they all know how to speak German. So we are so far behind, and the teacher doesnt speak English so we cant even ask question.

It's alot of fun and there is alot of different cultures in the room, we have people speaking Greek, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Hungarian then 2 english speaking people from Garnia and 3 Aussies.

Saturday

Today we said goodbye to the girls for 2 weeks. We drove 450km to take them to Katjas parents place!

The family also had a photoshooting, but I was just dressed to be warm, didnt do my hair or anything and they made me be in a few photos, so im sure they are going to be absolutely beautiful :/

We drove on the Auto Bahrn there and back also! Best thing ever, Brisbane defiantly needs one! Marcus was driving at about 190/200km/hour and there was still cars flying past! On the way home the GPS said we would arrive home at 9:32, We ended up home, and with a pizza for Marcus at 8:57 because you can go so fast!!!!

We had some funky foods today from Katjas mum. There was potato things which was like mashed potato and flour and water and didnt taste like anything, and then some purple vegetable that I have never seen, tasted before. And then the meat was like a thin strip of beef rolled with bacon and cucumber and other stuff inside! Was pretty good tho!

And then we had fortune cookies... I managed to get the only 3 out of 3 bad ones and everyone else got really good ones!

Well that was my day, and im off to bedd!!!

Today we had breakfast at about 10am because everyone sleeps in till 9ish because its so dark and cold and it is a public holiday there is no point!

Then Katja and I went shopping, we caught the tram there and she showed me what ones I have to catch to get to my language course... I will be getting lost!

I bought 2 massive big jackets and gloves and 2 more scarfs :)

Then we came home and had cheese for lunch!

Dinner was interesting... we ate off a big rock plate so you cook your own meal on the rock infront of you! it was really fun!

Then the girls set off their little fireworks at about 8pm and are now in bed. Marcus, Katja and I are setting off big fireworks at 12, I'm pretty excitedd!!!

As cold as it is I'm having so much fun!

Today we went to the zoo at 12:30 and I absolutely froze! I had a thermal shirt and 2 tshirts a massive jumper and jeans and boots and a scarf on!

We met Marcus's sister and her husband and their little baby boy there also!

There was an 'Australian' part to the zoo that was just made to look like the outback and there was wombats and kangaroos and emus!

Marcus and Katja have bought me an annual pass to the zoo as a welcome present as it is about a 5 minute drive down the road :)

So far it has been good, I just need to go shopping and buy some German winter clothes as Australia doesnt have any nearly warm enough for this!!!!!

Anyway, that was the adventures of today :)
