This year I have definitely been less adventurous and more in tune to my hipster side. I've been loitering around coffee shops and reading profound books of grief and humanitarian pursuits. Singa is one of those places I would recommend if you're trying to indulge in dreadlocks, oversized reading glasses and ill fitting clothes. You are surrounded by diversity.

My life has never been picture perfect nor has it been to my wits ends but its been fasinating and truly colourful. I have had experienced so much love that I will be so ever grateful for the rest of my life. I will not forget those people who have lifted my spirit up and have shown me what true friendship is all about. To give you more of an insight, I fractured my left foot in 4 separate areas and was on crutches for a few months and I had travel plans already set and this meant the world to me. I was crying myself to sleep and could not bear the fact that my passion in life has been demolished by an accident. I was taking strong pain killers not for pain but for the boredom of living my life with limitations. The best part of me, the star that gives me happiness in life, my escape from the harsh reality of life can now be described in past tense - travelling. I was stuck at home, reading, watching, and daydreaming of the adventures of yesteryear, I was depressed. Prior to the accident, I was also at my fitest aesthetics and I knew I could have done any adrenaline pumping activity I wanted but no, this was all altered by the fact that I had to be on crutches. I did pursuay my surgeon to let me go on this trip and he did let me. So I was more than happy to oblige to his rules and set out on a trip of more than 2 months. I was jumping into 4wds with one foot, getting up into ships on crutches, walking up and down the hills of San Fran, bearing the worst pain ive ever experienced- fear of missing on the fun of my travels. I developed anxiety and my worst enemy, my fear. I became a person of fear and I was not happy at all. I was scared that I made the wrong choice of travelling to america with a broken foot. I was not myself, I was debilitated and limited. I had no care of others feelings and was downright selfish. But there are people in my life that have surpassed the roles of a friend and have stuck by my side. My life is only worth it because there are people who have beautiful souls and they deserve to have a friend who'll be there when they need me.

Who wants to go for a short trip to New Zealand? The younger me would have said NO in a heart beat, or something along the lines 'said no one ever'. But the slightly more mature version of myself has grown to enjoy anything as long as its far away from home, this can also mean just a 4 hour flight away from home to New Zealand. I never imagined visiting NZ but it has surprised me tremedously. Its landscape and treks are some of the very best that I've seen throughout my travels. The land is wide making it underscribly majestic. I fell in love instanteously. I did not have to go to the other side of the world. It was just next door to my home.

So it has been almost a year since my trip to India and to reminisce the memories has always been a pleasure. So here it goes.. so we landed in New Delhi where you couldnt see the sun or sky due to clouds. The anticipation and excitement was overwhelming while we got out of the plane, Frances and I arrived with big open eyes and intentionally blocked noses. =D There we were kind of lost in this massive airport but made our way out into the real India! We got into a non airconditioned taxi that took us straight to our hotel. They way to the hotel we took a tuktuk that went through the ins and outs of town. Our hotel was located in an alley way and a bit shabby. The concierge was this slightly larger, older gentleman who requested to have our passports straight away and seemed demanding almost. That night we took up our luggage and got into our room where our room air conditioner stopped working and I kid you not 10 indian men came into our room to sort out the airconditioner located right next to our beds. So these men were trampling on our bed, each one of them =S

For most backpackers their imagination leads them to a place of paradise and harmony, while mine takes me to unpaved roads of uncertainty and excitement. For a 26 year old, emergency nurse, thrill seeking adventurer, life cannot get any better than being in Africa and soaking up some 'into the wild' experiences. To see, feel, learn, and grow from every encounter will definitely be one of the highlights of my backpacking experience.

A: Be wise. Don't be stupid, hence don't visit escape travel! They are a rip off!

Expedia.com.au is highly competitive. Best for most overseas flights. However they don't accept Amex.

If your planning a 3 day getaway for example to Fiji check out zuji.com.au based in Sydney they are competitive and give you a detailed itinerary of day trips

Q: Should I risk taking a budget airline?

A: Yes you cheapo!

Q: Whats an airline company with good membership deals?

A: Cathay pacifics Asia Miles! Got dad a travel Blood Pressure cuff and inflator for free!

1. Make sure you have snacks in your pack because you'll be waiting for few hours

2. Don't look for your tour guide, he will be hiding to stay away from your complaints

3. At first your hopeful, then you realise you might not get a ride. So give up.

4. Have a drink with the boys, they never take anything seriously.

5. Just because you're a foreigner, doesn't increase your chance of a ride

6. Never stand in the middle of the road.

7. Never hang out with the girls, they're all crying in desperation

8. Just imagine your Bear Grylls

9. Don't cover your face when cars past by, they'll think you're a rebel from the bush

10. Trucks are your best bet, commercial buses won't let your dirt covered self in

11. When your in the truck, hold your bladder!! urinate at your own risk

Why you should visit Hong Kong

It has been 4 years since I visited HK and I absolutely miss the ease of traveling around HK. I must admit that the highlight for me was Disneyland.

So I went with my friend Kwen and we travelled with Cathay Pacific hence the HK stop.

I have never had gastro issues onboard planes but in the past but all changed on that flight to HK. Its was an awful experience! It must have been the chicken meal I had on board. On arrival to HK, I continued to have diarrhoea and was on the road when I desperately needed to find a toilet. Thank God there was a big shopping centre on the next block and so we went in and asked the lifts attendants where the toilets were. They didn't understand me. The lift attendants looked at us as if we were aliens and had those facial reactions where I could have just laughed out loud but if I did I was gonna allow bit of bowel motion. I was in agony!!! and no, I didn't defecate in my pants and eventually found the toilets.

We had no itinerary planned but just wanted to visit most of the night markets. So like prostitutes, we were wide awake and dressed up by 7pm. Shopping was awesome!! Cheap Cheap Cheap!!! Never have I seen good quality fake items with reasonable prices.
