Calling All Travel Filmmakers to Inspire Authentic Travel

Hi guys! I'm Gaston, cofounder of Humanity.TV. We're trying to take on the big travel media companies and bring authenticity back into travel videos by presenting local stories all around the world through beautiful vignettes. In just six months since our launch, we've attracted over 50,000 views and 30,000 facebook fans with the help of the wonderful and tightknit travel community.

We're currently raising money to expand our filmmaking teams and create a one-of-a-kind video tablet magazine out of the short documentaries we've created. We're looking for top-tier talent who are active on Vimeo and passionate about human stories, beautiful visuals, and international travel. Humanity.TV travel video startup selected as finalist in American Airlines contest

Our travel video project, Humanity.TV, was chosen as finalist for American Airlines "Flights. Camera. Action." contest. If we win 1st place, we'll get 80 roundtrip flights and our videos will be featured in their in-flight content.

Humanity.TV aims to inspire authentic travel through captivating stories from around the world through brief but intimate videos about the lives of fascinating people. Help us expand our travel filmmaking teams by voting for us to win the contest.

The Everest Marathoners

Daring souls from Nepal and around the globe make it all the way to Everest Base Camp to run in the highest race in the world. We had a blast filming these runners at EBC, after trekking up the epic trail in six days.

Arrival in India to film our first episode

The Humanity.TV team arrives in Mumbai to kick off our HD world travel series. My cofounder, Kerrin Sheldon, and I set off from New York City to take on the adventure of a lifetime to meet fascinating people all over SE Asia.

A bit of background on the project: we were acquainted at travel startup Wanderfly and realized there was a need for short-form HD travel videos to complement all the new travel tech sites there are out there. We saw this as an opportunity to travel the world, uncover fascinating stories, and film some amazing videos to share with the travel community.

A couple months of planning later, we launched Humanity.TV and chose SE Asia as the location for our inaugural season. So far, SE Asia has proven as affordable as we imagined and there certainly are no shortage of interesting characters, starting with Belle, a karate champion who teaches at-risk Indian girls to defend themselves against sex traffickers. Hope you enjoy the first video from our series!

We'll soon be heading to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and then southward toward Indonesia. If you know of any interesting people from your travels, let me know!
