Yes. It's called a Trip.

While planning my trip, I kind of forgot to factor in the explanation section of the trip. The endless exclamations from co-workers "You're going to Africa? Is it a medical mission!?" I mean, it gets a little old.

No. It's not a mission. I'm not going to help anyone. I'm going to enjoy the scenery and add some stamps to my passport. Now suck it!

Of course, that's never what comes out of my mouth. I stumble through the concept of overland travel and exactly why I like camping out under the stars and then driving through the day to the next campsite. (But only in Africa so far - the camper van is about as far as I'm planning to go in Hawaii) Over the course of a night shift, my explanation never seems to fully gel. I've got about 10 more days before quitting everything and packing my life up in a backpack. In the meantime, I'll continue to try to explain exactly why I love the overland experience, but it's pretty likely that I'll end up telling at least one person to suck it. You can only expect so much from me!

And here's the itinerary...just so everyone can keep up.

DC>Hawaii>DC>Iceland>London>Gibraltar>Morocco>Mauritania>Mali>Ghana. And then after January 15 it gets a bit hazy...
