We can use the limitations governed by the camera to our advantage; by removing all but the most essential details of our world we can draw attention to the moments that no-one else can see. It is my dream to craft a life in the intersection between documentary image making and education. I work with primary school students in Australia, facilitating creative learning through visual storytelling projects. This collaboration encourages the students and I to explore and question our unique roles as global citizens through photography and film. I create short educational films and initiate self-funded photographic projects in pursuit of becoming a lifelong questioner and storyteller. The creative learning opportunities through this scholarship would not only enable me to develop into a more compassionate and effective visual communicator, but allow me to share these discoveries with the students with whom I am privileged to help along their individual storytelling journeys.
