Photos: My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My story of loving travel photography has, so far, 3 main chapters:

The first, started when I had 6 years, my parents gave me a world globe, which worked as a personal guide for my imaginary travels. In those wonderful years of child I ran the entire world, visiting the most impressive places, and contacting the most exotic people. That gift converted me, forever, in a profound lover of our planet´s geography.

When I had 20 years the second chapter appeared due to my girlfriend´s interest for photography. I needed to impress her, so I started to photograph in all occasions, including in the short trips that our student´s budget allowed. Curiously, until then, I wasn´t very fond of photography, but things change, and rapidly I became a fanatic of shooting and seeing pictures.

The third chapter occurred when I had 26 years and started to work, earning extra money to travel to other countries. Since then, I learned that I really love combining the passions of traveling and photographing. The challenge to take a good picture makes me more attentive, curious and bolder, and thus, I end knowing better the place I´m visiting.

Now I am 35 years old and I’m sure that I want to know the most in the world, doing good and recognized travel photography. With only 25 vacation days per year I will be far from fulfilling this dream so, lately, I usually find myself thinking about changing my life.

I feel the next chapter is coming soon and, who knows, it may happen if I win this competition. If I reach that, you can expect from me passion, will and commitment to learn and work hard, simply because I want that the fourth chapter of my personal story on photography becomes a reality.
