Book Reading

I have a bad day today. I didn't do anything because of my tooth. I was experiencing an unbearable tooth ache. In fact the swelling was very bad. I needed to see a dentist but too bad, I didn't have dental insurance. My only option was to take pain pill (it's only a temporary relief). In order to forget the pain, I decided to read the book for my reading assignment. So far, I finished two chapters. I couldn't believe that I read those chapters even though I was in pain. This is the best book to read in preparation for Southeast Asia trip. I will tell you more later after I read the whole book.

Back to School

After Memorial Day celebration, I went back to school the following day. As usual, HUMA 250 students met at room HM 1240. Our professor discussed about the Health, Welfare, and Safety of our trip in Southeast Asia, and we watched the excerpt of the movie "Sidewalk". There were group discussions, sharing opinions, and questions & answers facilitated by our intelligent professor Theresa Vasquez (I wish I can clone her). I was glad that these topics were included in our class agenda. These will make us prepare for Southeast Asia trip. Because of these experience, I'm now comfortable and confident to travel in Southeast Asia (thanks professor).

Prior to the afternoon class, I was helping my best friend to install new floors in his house. Working hard and helping others are my best hobbies. I made people happy, and at the same time, I'm learning new things.

If you see my photo, you might call me to install new floors in your house. Let me know my friends.

Memories On Memorial Day

I observed the Memorial Day Parade on this day. I just want to connect the occasion on the incoming Southeast Asia trip.I knew that Memorial Day is the day of our heroes (especially from Vietnam War) who protected our freedom, who fought against the enemies who tried to invade our country and who saved the people from other countries who needed the help of America. Watching the event made me speechless and numb, because, I saw our war veterans paraded in front of me, waving to us while carrying our national flag, old but still energetic, and I can see that they are very proud of what they have done to our country. I wish I'm one of them.

A Taste of Asia

A day of craving for Asian foods. I decided to go to Chung King Express located in N. Anthony Blvd., few blocks from the house where I reside to get some foods for my lunch. I ordered Sweet & Sour Shrimp which is similar to Thailand cuisine. I'm telling you folks, the food that I got was delicious, I never expected that I can get such food for a lesser price. My purpose of trying this food was to know how's the taste of Thai foods, and in order to train my tongue for the incoming Southeast Asia trip. My experience to that place was very memorable and I will not hesitate to recommend it to every person that I knew.

If you want good foods, reasonable price, good customer service, this is the best place to go. Don't forget, Chung King is located at N. Anthony Blvd., next to Scott's store, and half mile from Ivy Tech. See you there!

Good Samaritan

I decided to visit my friend and his family today. When I arrived in his house, nobody was home. While waiting, I made a quick decision to do something special for them, so I played the role as a Good Samaritan. What I did was, I mowed their lawns (front & back) while they were gone. I finished the job within one hour, and luckily I was done when they arrived. My friend was surprised, I told him that I did it to surprise him and not because he is my best friend. He gave me a big smile and at the same time shaking his head.

I always feel good every time I did something positive to someone. Being a Good Samaritan is my goal everyday. It didn't give me only a good feeling but also, it made me a complete human being with a clean heart and soul. I'm hoping that others will do the same.

I feel great when I saw the product of my good intentions.

Alone

I was alone and was sitting by the window, looking outside and thinking what I'm going to do. While my mind was busy thinking of nothing, something got my attention; this beautiful plant in the backyard with purple little flowers and has a fragrance similar to vanilla. My friend Autumn told me that the name of the plant is Lilac. This plant was new to me and I became interested to find more information about it. I wish I have these flowers in my backyard.

LILAC
