3 Reasons Why I Want to Take a European Road Trip This Summer

SPAIN | Friday, 14 July 2017 | Views [501]

I’ve seen Europe in a number of different ways, and I’ve enjoyed all of them. Whether it is choosing to take the train or bus, or to even fly with a budget airline, there are plenty of ways to see the continent when you are restricted on how much you can spend. However, I’m looking to travel in a new way—this time by renting an RV and traveling along with some friends.

Here are 3 reasons why I am looking to experience Europe in a new way this summer.

1.    I can create my own travel schedule

Many of my travels have been dictated around catching a mode of transportation. While we all have to find a way to get somewhere, I would love to have the opportunity to travel on my own time. As someone who loves to get up late and who would love to have the chance to sleep in, traveling in an RV seems like an ideal way to see a lot, but within my own time too.

There’s also the freedom to go wherever I would like and to off-the-beaten-path destinations that might be overlooked. As I travel more and more and it has become a part of my lifestyle, I like to visit spots that aren’t usually visited by tourists. Having an RV can be the simplest way to get around and still see some areas that I wouldn’t have otherwise.

2.    I can save money on hostels or hotels

While I’ve mostly camped out at cheap hotels or hotels on my travels, I would like to have the freedom to be able to have my own place—at least if it’s just for a few weeks. The cost for accommodations can really add up over a while, and renting an RV can often be a cheaper option over the long run. It’s often inexpensive to stay at campsites, and it also gives you a chance to make some friends in way that would be difficult traveling by bus or train. I love how there is a community based around the idea of RVing and I feel like it’s a way to connect with others from different cultures. We’d have a common interest of traveling and seeing new places.

3.    I can bring my friends

Traveling with friends and family is not always easy. By the time you figure out how you are going to fly to a certain location and meet, where you should stay, and which restaurants you should try, you’re already exhausted. I like the idea of taking an RV because you’re all in the same vehicle together—you know where your friends are and you can make traveling decisions together instead of it resting on one person. An RV can house up to a few people, so it’s more than doable to have some of my good friends jump onboard and add some flavor to your life.

After seeing so much of Europe, I would love to try and travel in a new way and experience some of the same locations I’ve seen with new eyes. Renting an RV seems like the perfect way to really enjoy Europe from a new angle.
