A 'place' I have visited

I am fascinated by people and their living environment.
- Where people live (and don't). Why?
- How they impact their surroundings.
- What this tells us about them (and ourselves).

An observer at heart, I like to recount stories through my lens. I enjoy traveling off the beaten path to unearth hidden treasures which will eventually develop into subject matters.

There is infinite beauty in curiosity, and I like to play at the crossroads of both. Finding curiously beautiful, intriguing subject matters and developing them.

Sometimes stories are evident while other times they need soul-searching. What I have found is that at the heart of each story is a living thing; a voice. Someone / something who needs - or deserves - to be heard.

Photography is my calling. Telling stories is what I do. This is what I am good at. This is what I love.

Photos: Stillness of Time

The world appears to evolve at different speeds. Caught in the mire of smartphones, 30 mbs internet, the latest flic, the coolest gadgets, and the newest thingamajig that marketers will convince us to buy, we often forget to see that some people simply do not form part of "our world".
Chiapas is Mexico's poorest state. Tucked away in the highlands of dense forests lie two towns: San Cristobal de las Casas and San Juan Chamula. These appear to be stuck in time, evolving at a snail's pace. Yet their authenticity and the kindness of the people that inhabit these towns is refreshing and even breathtaking.
