faces painted for ghosts

I started my interest in photography only 3 years ago, but it turns out this discovery was never too late, I progressed quite a bit and found my style. I like up close and personal, dig deeper beyond the surface, I think it takes a curtain personality or so called aura of a photographer to get so close to its subject but its subject still feels comfortable and natural, I believe I have this quality in me, something one can't learn. <br/>For I obtained a DSLR for only 2 years, and for producing this quality of photos, though not master pieces, I have talent I was born with, I believe this scholarship can further open up my potential.

Photos: My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Never thought I would love taking photos, never thought I can take it good either, but since my year long travel to South America in 2010, I found out I can actually take good pictures with a little bit more attention and a bit more hard work. Amateur friends that I met in my travel introduced me to many photography knowledge including Black and White, RAW, LightRoom, helped me grow a lot!

For a person who is self taught, I think I'm doing pretty good! I WON 4 Lonely Planet Publication Photo Challenge in the last 14 months, and 4 of them was taken by a point and shoot camera.

Now I got a DSLR, I found my own style. I have great sense of composition that I believe I was born with it. I know I have a lot of potential, but I still need to learn a lot to fully use it. So I'm quite envious when my good friend told me how many inspiring photographers he's met in Danish School of Media and Journalism while studying photojournalism, cause my low and unstable income doesn't get me anywhere near these masters.

By entering this competition for scholarship, hoping that I get the recognition, a chance for growth, and an open door to professional. Thank you.
