My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Two years ago I decided to leave the comfort of a teaching job in Colombia to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. To a lot of people, this decision was a crazy proposition as I was diving into the unknown and into a very “unstable” way of life. To me it was about following my passion and doing what I love to do. I know, that by doing what I love, I will be not only happier but also be able to contribute my fullest potential to society. Through photography I want to give back to the community. Happiness to me is knowing that my photos have a positive impact on another person’s life. When I take a photograph, I do it thinking about how that photograph will allow others to discover something new or different about the world we live in. I want to connect with the world and learn about the cultures, customs, and the reality of the places I visit. I aim to become a better photographer, and a long the way, share with others my perspective on life and the beauty it has to offer.
