The Charm Of Sleeping Warrior In Gilgil

It was a Red-Eyed Dove that woke me. “I AM a Red-Eyed Dove, I AM a Red-Eyed Dove” he kept calling from outside the window.
“And I AM a Red-Eyed Fox” I was tempted to shout back.
It was dawn; I had gone to bed late, and sleep hadn’t come easily because there was too much to think off.
I was supposed to be back by then, to meet with a couple of friends who just had a thing or two to share. I had booked a hotel, with the room overlooking the Famous Lake Elementaita and the park. But all didn’t go well as I had planned though, there had been troubles with travelling, the roads were impassable and very dirty as such.
“I have never seen myself so enthusiastic about a place” I whispered; True, I was enthusiastic-excited even.
So I settled, breathed in to calm my nerves and rescheduled to come back in Nairobi later.
It was an excellent choice.
No, Lake Elementaita doesn’t have the history or the romance of the Hawaii beach, but the sleeping warrior and the park was an Ideal venue for me-and its setting is superb.
It is built on a leased land in the South of the Soysambu conservancy. The park lodges is set on the slopes of an extinct volcano, looking out to the sleeping warrior Mountains and beyond to the Lake and the misty blue ranges ringing Nakuru. The sleeping warrior is the name given to the mountain that looks like the head and the body of a man reclining on his back. Here, the settlers called it Lord Delameres Nose.
The park lodge was built with the local materials and local labour. The walls are of stones, the roofs are of mabati; much of the furniture is made from cedar posts. The main park has lodges with rooms and lounge with large fireplace that in the evenings is lit with logs from the surrounding leleshwa or camphor bushes. There is a smug bar, and the terraces have the rains over soysambu .Down the slope there is a heated swimming pool to cool temperature.
Along the slope there are sight rooms. Each is housed in a stone built cottage with a high-vaulted thatched roof and the balcony.
But there is something else. The experience, it is amazing. The park provides a three-and-a half-day programme. It involves an immune-boosting diet, daily yoga and meditation, spa treatment and personal fitness exercise.
I haven’t mentioned the food, it is very good. The ingredients are fresh, there are vegetarian options and everything is yummy.
The animals, the luxury camp on the lower ground and the setting is extraordinary.
It is quaint, peaceful and beautiful done.

Value of relationship

Everyone we meet has something to teach us,every place we find ourself there is something to learn, every circumstance we face there is a reason.

Somalia is a country that is settled far away east in the continent of AfricaIt has a learge popuplation but mist of the population fled from their native land due to crisis and war that tortured her.

When I travelled to Somalia for a mission,it was fun and I was glad to have been there.I was full of excitement to go to unknown land of terror.Without fear,I was confident to have a glimpse of what is happening to Somalia.

One thing I learned is that, peacekeeping is not avoiding conflict, running from a problem or pretending it does not exists or being afraid of conflict.

Living with a purpose

Traveling is fun, enjoybale, full of goodness and restores evelarsting memories. All of us want to experience abundance in our lives, and it all starts with both of us.There is so much to learn when we meet and interact wth new faces and new environment. We need to be conscious first of the abundance inside. Then, what is inside will reveal the reality on the outside.

It may be sumething simple but, which we have never done before or thought of.I love expriencing differently everytime I travel and have all the best that the world ca offer.

Reaching out with love

Rwanda, the country on the hill, no one can stand unmoved. The conflict still goes on between the children. What lesson is here given to the victims? With the feelings of remorse and shame. When I traveled to this beautiful country on the surface of the earth, I could not hold my tears back each night witnessing all the awkward moments that happened in the 1990s. Every story I heard surpassed the comfort I had. “Our home was a war zone. Every night was a night of terror, you could not stop wishing for the morning to come soon”, this is all I meditated all along my stay.
Yes, I realized that it’s not about me. The purpose of our life is far greater than our own personal fulfillment, our peace of mind, or even our happiness. It’s far greater than our desires, our career, or even our wildest dreams and ambitions. If we want to know why we were placed on this planet, to walk around and meet different kinds of people, we must begin with love. This is the starting point to realize and actualize every intention of life one has.
Every act of self-sacrifice for the good of others strengthen the spirit of beneficence in the given’s heart thus fulfilling the divine purpose given to him by virtue of love.
One important lesson to learn is that, love is not in words, it is not passive but acts. It is deeply serious and intensely in earnest, reaching out with a helping hand where is needed. The life of those who are eager to show and have its feelings of joy and its goodness must conquer all the negative effects associated with it. There must be no repress, no boisterous merriment and no rude jesting, but keeping up the uppermost in the mind the kind and just acts of others and this shall make it possible to love and do what deserves to them.
The heart and the spirit of unselfish works for other gives birth to depth stability and the really loveliness to the character, and results to harmony, success and happiness to its possessors.
