Mmmmmmm...Beckham.....

Mmmmmmm...Beckham.....

I strongly believe that Korea can never get boring!!  I love living in/near a ginormo city like Seoul because there's ALWAYS something to do!  Last weekend, my friends Priscilla, Gavin, Mark, and I went to the LA Galaxy vs. FC Seoul soccer game (NOT football...ahem, Priscilla and Gavin...).  And yes, I got to see David Beckham, my future husband, play.  Because it was a friendly, there weren't too many people and the wasn't very exciting.  But I still had a really good time!!!  Mark and I decided to make the game a little more interesting by placing bets on the teams.  It was a whopping 20 baht bet.  Mark still owed me my 20 baht from Thai boxing and wanted to win it back, haha.  I was rooting for LA Galaxy...  Well, it ended up a tie and there was a shoot-out.  Unfortunately, FC Seoul won...so now we're even.  Man...what I coulda done with my 40 baht!!!!!!  Why, Beckham...WHY?!?!?

Then it was Luc's birthday on Tuesday.  Priscilla and I bought him a birthday cake and brought it to the bar...we felt so Korean, hahaha.  We lit the candles and Mr. Young, the bar owner, gave us sparklers and played the birthday song.  It was hilarious!  Who has sparklers in a bar?!?!  Well, we definitely celebrated Luc becoming an ajashi (old man) at a couple bars and then went to a noraebang afterwards...OF COURSE!  We ended up coming home at about 7 am...and Priscilla had to be at work at 9:40 and I had to be there at 11 am, and Mark didn't have kindies on Wednesday...we so hated him.  Weeeeeeeeeeeellllll, I came in to work and found out that Luc missed his first class and that Mr. Kim, our manager, had to go to his apartment to wake him up.  And Priscilla missed her 9:40 breakfast/activity time with the kindies and was about 10 mins late for her first class at 11!!!  As far as I know, they didn't get in trouble.  I think our manager understood that it was Luc's birthday.  And it's reasons like that that I really enjoy working at our school.

Which brings me to my exciting news!  It's official that I will be staying at ECC Hwajeong for another year!  My manager said that she would love for me to come back to Hwajeong and teach.  I will sign my new contract next week.  And I will be getting my F-4 visa!!!  I'm really excited about that too.  It will be nice to have some freedom with my employment opportunities!  ;)

Soooo, I spoke with my manager and she said that because she thinks that I was a good teacher, I get to take some time off between contracts and go back to the States for ten days!  Woooooot!  So, I'll be leaving on my birthday and arriving on my birthday.  What a great birthday present!!!  I definitely want to see everyone when I go home!  I can't wait!!

One more year in Korea...I can't wait to see what happens this time around!!!
