HOME?!

HOME?!

After the sweltering heat or Ho Chi Minh City, Bowral, in its first chilly grips of winter, feels very different. I’m feeling very foreign.... I look around and there’s not a moped to bee seen, nothing out of ordinary just dull old Bowral. Its great to be home but I don’t know what to do with myself. Can’t wait to travel more.

this morning i woke up and had breakie. then we went and saw Ho chi minh's body, which has been conserved for almost 40 yrs. then we saw his old house. After that we visited an old prision which they used to keep captured american soliders in and political criminals from Vietnam.

After this we saw a confusious temple and university. it was amazing.

Then we went to lunch in a place where there is no profit and all the workers work for their accomidation and food.

they take stranded kids off the strees to work there and teach them how to cook or serve.

then we came bak to the hotle, and instead of hangig around for 2 hrs we all went shopping.i bought a jumper and went to a pppet show lol

after tea we all had a little pj party in our room and went to bed lol

xxx kb

08/04

let me talk about yesterday.

i woke up with our 6.30 am wake up call. after ella and i got dressed we went down to breakfast. i didnt have anything interesting, sorry to say. then we travelled to ankor wat, a beautiful anciernt building. It is approximatly 800yrs old , yet was only discovered 150yrs ago . it is huge but covered so densly in jungle knowone had ever found it.

we were able to climb on and around it, which is usually unheard of for a temple.

when we were leaving the king of bruni was coming through so we got to see him. There were police everywhere and i thought something horribel was going to happen until we were told the king was coming through.

then we travelled by 2 smaller buses to ankor thom, a smaller budist temple.IN not so good condition, it was younger but because of the buildig techniques used it was not very stable.

it was a beautiful building, but by this point i was feeling terrible sick.

when we got back to the busesd i had a really bad headach.

i thought i just needed to eat but after lunch i still want feeling better. So i stayed on the bus and didnt get to see Ankor wat temple. by this time my head and my stomach were p[laying up. on return to the hotel i had a cold shower and a sleep. i didnt join everyone for dinner.

but this morning i was feeling much better !

we went to a war mine museum. we saw all of the landmines they have dug up and we heard the story of the guide and how he lost heis leg and brither and sister at age 8!

then we went to some loacl markets and i bought some amazinf blue beads and some bangels. i also bought a head scarf! and some chopsticks for ma hair lol.

then we went to lunch and i had cahsew prawns wich were absolutly delicious.

now im at the hotel and we have till 3.30pm

then we are oiff on a boat trip.

ill let u know how all of that goes.

xx kb

Kb's blog

06/04

this morning i wioke up at home. my mums boyfriend came in at 4.30am with a coffee for mum and i. my 2 brothers came in to say farewell. by 5am mum and iu were on our way to school. there we met the group and waited for mr kelly to arrive. Once he had arrived, we were off.

At the airport the bcheakin was really slow. then we went through customs and security. we then had sometime to get breakfast and do a little shopping, ella bought some head phones but i couldnt find a school bag that i liked.

the plane ride was 8 hrs and ella and i killed time taking photos, singing, sleeping and reading.

we stopped in vietnam and once we were showed to the transit lounge we had the chance to do some shopping. i bought a toblerone lol and almost bought ma bf a burbury t-shirt but decided a gainst it because that would have been half of ma spending money gone.

then we flew to cambodia, which took an hour. once we were through customs and collected our baggage we met out tour leaders. on the transfer to the hotel we found out a little about cammbodias economy and why the country is so poor.

However tourism is helping the areas povertry.

when we arrived at the hotel the power was out. we waited for 20 min for it to kick in again and then after discussing the mornings arrangements we wree shown to our room.

we then had a quick swim. i wore my watch in the pool so it is nolonger working but we'll manage.

i then came upstairs and had a nice cool shower. now im off to bed

goodnight

xxx kb

Im lovig this trip especially because the people i am with. The temples we saw yesterday were amesome, the food is great although i am sick of rice already.

our tour guide pat is such a champ, hes so nice hes always really excited to explain things about his culture to us which is great because i want to learn. The only thing that is bad about this place so far is the heat but im getting the hang of it.

xxxxx

ella
